The Baxter County Library is thrilled to announce "A Stellar Spring Break" taking place from March 18 to 22, offering youth an array of eclipse-inspired crafts and snacks throughout the week.
On Milky Way Monday, participants can indulge in an activity crafting DIY Eclipse Pinhole Viewers using cereal boxes while snacking on Sun Chips and Milky Way bars. This is a come-and-go activity, open 9:00 am – 6:30 pm. No registration required.
Totality Tuesday invites youth in grades 4th-12th to join a DIY eclipse t-shirt painting session from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, where they can design their own total eclipse on a shirt while enjoying Sunkist soda and sunflower seeds. Registration for this is required; click here to register.
Wanderstar Wednesday offers two showtimes at 11:00 am and 2:30 pm to watch "Rise of the Guardians" (rated PG) while enjoying eclipse-inspired trail mix and a Capri Sun drink. No registration is required.
For Terrestrial Thursday, participants can create a pocket solar system and sample Orbit or Eclipse chewing gum. This is a come-and-go activity, open 9:00 am – 6:30 pm. No registration is required.
Finally, Far-Out Friday presents an opportunity to design UV bead bracelets and enjoy mini MoonPies. This is a come-and-go activity, open 9:00 am – 6:30 pm. No registration is required.
These activities promise a fun-filled and educational Spring Break for youth, providing hands-on experiences inspired by the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8.
