Puppet Show and Workshop

Join the Baxter County Library in a virtual performance of Beauty and the Beast with Stephen’s Puppets on June 6 at 10:30AM on Zoom. There will also be a shadow puppet workshop taught by Matt Sandbank’s Shadow Factory, available beginning on June 8. The workshop is prerecorded, and lasts through August 31.

If you would like to join the Zoom performance of Beauty and the Beast, you can access the show from https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81408669371. The length of the program is approximately 45 minutes. You do not need to have a Zoom account. Audience members can connect through any device, including tablets, phones, computers, and smart TVs. All participants’ microphones and cameras are off when they join. Parents can also control their child’s level of participation and privacy. To take part in Matt Sandbank’s shadow puppet workshop, registration is required at baxlib.org and is open from June 8 to August 31. The workshop features three self-paced classes, and each workshop features a fun mix of shadow skits, artist guidance, and simple at-home activities presented in brief, readily accessible videos that children can easily navigate. These workshops are appropriate for children aged 7-11, but may also be enjoyed by younger children who are assisted by an adult. The total length of each workshop is approximately 30 minutes.
