Learn How to Publish a Book and Create Your Own Comic

Aspiring authors and illustrators will love what is in-store at the Baxter County Library on Friday, November 5. As part of the Read | Write | Ignite Literary Series, two back-to-back programs will take place that all patrons are welcome to attend. Kevin Pieper and Petra Britton, two local authors, will give their perspectives on how to publish a book. Both authors have experience with publishing their own books, but in very different ways. This workshop will take place in the Knox Community Rooms from 10:30am-11:45am.

The second program scheduled for November 5, 1:30pm-2:30pm, is a Live Virtual visit and Minicomic workshop via Zoom with Gale Galligan, an illustrator of some of the Baby-Sitter’s Club graphic novels. You can join us in the Knox Community Rooms or interact from home.   In this workshop, Gale talks about the fun of making and sharing minicomics, and then walks participants through making a minicomic of their very own. She teaches that anybody can put together a comic book, and it can be done in many different ways. Registration is required to join this workshop.
