The first Wednesday of each month, 1:30-3:00pm, join the Issues and Viewpoints book club discussion. One of two, of the Baxter County Library’s amazing book clubs, Issues and Viewpoints addresses nonfiction titles usually with political or controversial subject matter. The next meeting will be August 4 when the topic of discussion will be Justice Clarence Thomas’ book My Grandfather’s Son: A Memoir. The book spans all of Thomas's life to the present, beginning with his early childhood in the Deep South and his mother's decision to send him and his brother to be raised by her father and stepmother. He tells of his upbringing by his grandparents, his time in college and law school, and his career in government.
The discussion will be in-person, in the Knox Community Room A & B.
