The Baxter County Library is proud to have historian Dr. Brooks Blevins back to discuss his third and final installment in his series A History of the Ozarks, Volume 3: The Ozarkers. Join us Wednesday December 8th at 2pm in the Knox Community Rooms at the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County.
Learn about the experiences of the Ozarkers and how they have not diverged from the currents of mainstream life as sharply or consistently, as the mythmakers would have it. If much of the region seemed to trail behind by a generation, the time lag was rooted more in poverty and geographic barriers than a conscious rejection of the modern world and its progressive spirit.
