Nealus Wheeler, President of the Friends of the Library, present a scholarship to Baxter County Library staff member Laura Clark, along with Scholarship Committee members JoBelle Zimmerman and Nancy Knopp.
For the second year in a row, the Friends of the Library have proudly presented funds to a Baxter County Library staff member to help them continue their education. Laura Clark, who oversees Cataloging and Adult Collections, was awarded the $1,000 Friends of the Library Scholarship last week. She is currently working towards her Bachelor’s in English at American Public University.
Since their founding in 1980, the Friends of the Library have given over $600,000 to the library as of May 2020. The Friends of the Library also present college scholarships to graduating Baxter County high school seniors through their annual essay scholarship.
