Celebrate National Library Week

Baxter County Library is celebrating National Library Week by giving out balloons and bookmarks to everyone who visits the library April 5-10. The theme for National Library Week, “Welcome to Your Library,” promotes the idea that libraries extend far beyond the four walls of a building and everybody is welcome to use the library’s services. During this annual celebration, libraries nationwide promote National Library Workers Day on Tuesday, April 6 and Library Giving Day on Wednesday, April 7

Library Workers Day is a day for library staff, users, administrators and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers. If you know an outstanding library worker you can nominate them as a Star for the ALA-APA Galaxy of Stars. Go to ala-apa.org/nlwd to nominate a stellar library worker.

Library Giving Day is a one-day fundraising event with the goal of encouraging people to give back to their local library. All monetary support will go directly into helping with incredible programs, services and materials provided by the library. To donate go to the Support the Library tab on baxlib.org.
