Dr. Phillip Howerton
Poetry from the Ozarks: Dr. Phillip Howerton
Dr. Howerton is the editor & compiler of The Literature of the Ozarks released from the University of Arkansas Press. Also, he has authored, edited & published several regional books. In 2019, Dr. Howerton & his wife, created Cornerpost Press, a publishing company specializing in writing that explores the complexity of the Ozarks. Cornerpost Press is releasing Wild Muse: Ozarks Nature Poetry. Gerry Sloan is a retired music professor living in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His poetry collections are Paper Lanterns (2011) and Crossings: A Memoir in Verse (2017) plus six chapbooks including Wild Muse (Cornerpost Press, 2023). Recent work appears in Nebo, Slant, Cantos, Xavier Review, Arkansas Review, Blue Unicorn, Cold Mountain Review, Mid/South Anthology, Rat's Ass Review, Cave Region Review (featured poet), and Elder Mountain (featured poet).
Wendy Taylor Carlisle is the author of four books and five chap books and is the 2020 winner of the Phillip H. McMath Poetry Prize. A chapbook-length selection may be found in Wild Muse (Cornerpost Press, 2022), and a new edition of her book, Reading Berryman to the Dog, comes out in 2023 from Belle Point Press.

George Jared is an award-winning journalist who has covered numerous crime cases throughout the years including the local case of Rebekah Gould.
Jared has won numerous accolades including 11 first place awards with Associated Press Managing Editors and Arkansas Press Association for investigative journalism, feature writing, spot news, headline writing, and others. Jared has been interviewed by numerous newspapers and media outlets for coverage of that case and other capital murder cases he's covered through the years.
