Join us for a special teacher’s night out – at the library. Register to come to the Baxter County Library March 20th, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
While enjoying a taco bar; Amy Johnson, the Youth Services Librarian and a former teacher, will share about the library's digital resources that may be helpful in your classroom. Followed by professional development for teaching about the Holocaust from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum including best practices for teaching about it and how to tie the exhibit into your classroom curriculum. We will also show you how to find lesson plans and resources for the classroom from the USHMM that can help you meet required Holocaust curriculum needs in your future lesson plans.
A guided tour of the Americans and the Holocaust Traveling Exhibit will follow.
We have invited local organizations that provide programs and services for schools to have a table with information so you can learn about other community partners that may be able to help you enrich your classes.
We will be joined by Arkansas Fish and Game representatives from Fred Berry Crooked Creek Conservation Center and Ponca Nature Center, The Twin Lakes Literacy Council, The North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists, the Baxter County 4H, the Corner Art Collective, and Mt. Home Parks & Recreation.
(Stay to the end for a chance to win a door prize.)
