Science Fair
By: Dave Perry and Ridely Pearson
It is about a school that is having a science fair and the price is $5,000. Toby figures out the rich kids are cheating and their projects might be dangerous. There are lots of other things going on like Star Wars freaks stealing a collection and not-so-bright people from Krpshtskan to make a terrorist attack. It is very, very, very funny and the best realistic/science fiction book ever!

IraqiGirl: diary of a teenage girl in Iraq
Edited by Elizabeth Wrigley-Field; developed by John Ross.
Iraqigirl is very emotional collections of a blog of a young teenager in Iraq during this war. She faces many problems in her everyday life that is ‘normal’ for her Unnormal life to us. She encounters family deaths and bombs near her house and school every day. If not for her older sister and her baby niece, she does not know how she would have survived to this day. I encourage everyone to pick up this book and read it so you can have the same insight I have now on the life in Iraq.

Go Ask Alice
By: Anonymous
Go Ask Alice is a heart wrenching, gut twisting, soul searching book about a young girl who dabbles in the life of drugs. She realizes soon that it is not all it is cracked up to be and quickly tries to find a way out while the world pulls her deeper and deeper in. Go Ask Alice kept me up late at night, making me wonder what would happen to this poor girl next. I recommend to everyone to find it and read this book.

Fruits Basket
By: Natsuki Takaya
A sweet, yet slightly sad series about a family with a curse and a native girl. Lots of twists and turns, you usually don’t see the turns in the plot that are thrown at you. Helps keep the book from getting boring.

Ella Enchanted
By: Gail Carson Levine
The day Ella was born, fairy Lucinda bestowed Ella a gift. Lucinda’s gift was obedience. A gift became a curse. Ella would follow every order given to her. Her life was in danger. This book was okay to me.

Artichoke Hearts
By: Suzanne Supplee
I hated this book. The main character was pathetic. She ate rotten mayonnaise so she could puke to get skinny. This book is a terrible influence on girls. She only cheers up in the end because she’s losing weight. Don’t pick up this book unless you want to be disgusted.
